BKPM and European Union Establish EU Desk to Boost Foreign Investment

The Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) together with the European Union Delegation to Indonesia officially signed a Cooperation Statement for the establishment of the EU Desk. This strategic move opens great opportunities for increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flows from the European Union to Indonesia.

Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani expressed high optimism towards this initiative. "The EU Desk will open more communication channels and strategic cooperation potential. The European Union is an important partner for Indonesia," he stated.

The establishment of the EU Desk aligns with President Prabowo's directive to simplify regulations and reduce bureaucratic barriers in the investment sector.

BKPM data shows European Union investment realization for the period 2019-Q1 2025 reached USD 13 billion with sector distribution:

• Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry: USD 2.1 billion
• Electricity, Gas and Water: USD 1.9 billion
• Housing and Industrial Estates: USD 1.1 billion
• Transportation and Communication: USD 1.07 billion
• Other Services: USD 1.05 billion
